SATURDAY MORNING FUSING CLASS

Our fusing workshops have been so popular that we are now offering them every second Saturday morning from 10 am till 1 pm. All projects are student based. You can learn how to make beautiful plates, bowls, candle holders, even gorgeous jewellery! You will also see how to work with frit, stringers, and other means to enhance your project. If you’re not sure what to work on, we have lots of samples and project ideas to inspire you. This class is open to all levels of skill from beginners to experienced students.

You may pay as you go, or purchase class coupon books of 3 or 5 classes. These workshops offer flexible attendance. Price includes firing of pieces, but does not include glass. Due to the number of projects being fired, there may be a size restriction on some pieces. We recommend that students bring their own glass cutting tools.

BASIC STAINED GLASS

Time: Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm-9:30pm
Duration: 8 weeks

Basic Stained Glass is a fun and inspiring course designed to introduce you to both traditional lead and copper foil techniques. Each student will produce two stained glass panels: one of copper foil and one of leaded glass.

You will learn how to:

Plan a stained glass project
Accurately cut glass
Assemble and finish stained glass panels

The course fee includes the use of studio tools including grinders and soldering irons. The fee does not include the cost of materials (glass, solder, foil, lead, etc.) or the cost of hand tools (glass cutters, groziers, nippers, etc.) Registered Basic Students are offered a extra 3 free hours (maximum) during the course to come in and use the studio equipment during Studio Time hours (see below). Please note however that this is non-instructional time and is intended to allow the student additional time to practice their skills and complete their projects.

INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED STAINED GLASS

A basic knowledge of glass cutting, copper foil and lead technique are required.

Time: Thursday evenings from 6:30pm-9:30 pm.
Duration: 8 weeks

Participants take their Stained glass skills to a new level, and refine their skills. Projects are student driven and can involve 3-dimensional Stained Glass such as boxes and lamps, more complex stained glass projects, and learning how to design their own patterns.

You will learn:

Decorative soldering techniques
Light table glass cutting
Assembly of advanced stained glass panels
3 dimensional work if desired

The course fee includes the use of studio tools including grinders and soldering irons. The fee does not include the cost of materials (glass, solder, foil, lead, etc.) or the cost of hand tools (glass cutters, groziers, nippers, etc.) Studio time ($10/hr) is available throughout the week (see below).
